Frequently asked questions
Will a 60 cm hood cover my hob?
Only if the hob is 60 cm or narrower. If you have a 78 or a 90, this is the wrong width and the outer burners will sit outside the capture area. Match the hood to the hob, not to the cabinet above it.
Is 60 cm enough for wok cooking?
It can be, but width limits how much of the rising plume the hood ever sees, so extraction rate carries more weight at this size. Check the cubic metres per hour rather than assuming a smaller hood is proportionally fine.
Will one fit a tight galley kitchen?
Yes. Telescopic and slimline models are built for exactly that and pull out only when you need them. Check the clearance the manufacturer wants above the hob, because it differs between gas and induction.
