A downdraft hood rises out of the worktop behind the hob and drops back down when you are finished, so nothing hangs above the cooking area. Worth considering where an overhead hood would block the sightline across an island.
It needs a cutout in the worktop and cabinet space underneath for the motor, so this is a decision to make before the carpentry is ordered, not after. 90 cm wide.
